Charli XCX and Christine and the Queens go all out on pop banger ‘Gone’
Charli XCX recently announced that her third album, simply titled Charli, will mostly consist of collaborations and sees the light of day on the 23rd of September. Charli launched the first single ‘1999’ with Troye Sivan and followed it up with ‘Blame It On Your Love’ with Lizzo. The British pop star now teams up with French artist Christine and the Queens on her new single ‘Gone’. It’s a proper banger!
Charli XCX and Christine and the Queens both represent two different styles of electronic and synth pop, but their sounds melt surprisingly well on ‘Gone’. The track produced by
has a groovy rhythm and an almost industrial beat. Charli takes on the first verse while Christine owns the second one. The bridge towards the chorus is already completely irresistible while the chorus itself is an absolute powerhouse. The production and their vocals properly go off. This is easily Charli’s best work in a good while both in terms of melodies and production.
