Tove Lo collaborates with Kylie Minogue on new Sunshine Kitty take
We are only two weeks away from the release of Tove Lo’s fourth album Sunshine Kitty. The Swedish pop star kicked off the era with the laidback but swinging ‘Glad He’s Gone’ and more recently dropped the Alma collaboration ‘Bad As The Boys’. Tove managed to get Australian pop legend Kylie Minogue on the newest promo tune titled ‘Really Don’t Like U’. Although a collab by these two ladies sounds like pop heaven, it is not really the electro pop banger we might have expected. The track produced by Ian Kirkpatrick is a midtempo affair with a contemporary sound and quite heavy autotune on the vocals. In the chorus, it is hard to even distinguish between the two voices. Having said that, the chorus does become better with every listen and the lyrical content about not liking the new partner of your ex just because, is quite relatable. This is in no way a bad pop song, but the fact that both Tove and Kylie’s names are attached to it, I do have to admit I expected a bit more.
