Dua Lipa treats fans to Future Nostalgia title track
Dua Lipa came back swinging last month with the release of her deliciously catchy disco pop tune ‘Don’t Start Now’. She soon after announced her next album will be called Future Nostalgia and she will embark on a European tour in Spring. To give her fans a little something to enjoy before the end of the year, she decided to release the title track, co-written with Jeff Bhasker and Clarence Coffee Jr. “It’s all playful and fun and not taking ourselves too seriously, but we loved it so much we wanted to share it wiv ya!”, Lipa wrote on social media. ‘Future Nostalgia’ is actually a fully fledged bop that effortlessly mixes genres. It has elements of funk, disco, electro pop and above all an irresistibly catchy chorus. The vibe does remind me slightly of Lady Gaga’s ARTPOP which of course is not a bad reference at all. Admittedly, ‘Future Nostalgia’ is a bit too all over the place to become a proper single and hit, but this is an interesting turn in Lipa’s career and raises the excitement for the full record!
