UK pop star Foxes returns with new single ‘Love Not Loving You’
It is over four years ago since we last heard from UK pop star Foxes. The singer who had her big break with Zedd collaboration ‘Clarity’ and hit singles like ‘Youth’ and ‘Let Go For Tonight’ released her second album, containing the absolute bop ‘Body Talk’ at the start of 2016 and ever since, things got quiet, until earlier this year when there was a rumor flying around that she would represent the UK in Eurovision (if only!). As we all know by now, that didn’t happen (both Foxes participating and the contest itself), but she is finally back with new music. She just dropped the brand new single ‘Love Not Loving You’.
Foxes does what Foxes does best on her new tune. It’s a pure pop song with some eighties synths influences and an enjoyably chaotic production (by the hands of Cheap Cuts and Luke Smith). There is a lot going on, but it never distracts from the impeccable melodies we already knew Foxes was capable of writing. In comparison to her earlier work, the production choices could be considered a bit more daring and out of the box, which is never a bad thing. The lyrics are all about realizing the relationship you’re in is not working anymore and you’re better off without that person. Her vocals are smooth and poppy as ever and we sure missed those! Welcome back Foxes and thanks for bringing the bops we have been starving for.
