Single Review: Ella Henderson – Take Care Of You

Ella Henderson is a dance diva on new single ‘Take Care Of You’
After years of radio silence, Ella Henderson made her proper comeback last year. The British pop star who first found fame through X Factor UK, launched her debut album with the massive hit ‘Ghost’ on it back in 2014 and returned with her EP and single Glorious last year. She recently released dance collaborations with Sam Feldt, Sigala and Jax Jones, of which the last meant her return to the top 10 of the UK charts. Now, Henderson doesn’t just save the dance sound for her collaborations. She turns into a proper dance diva on her very own new single ‘Take Care Of You’.

Ella Henderson co-wrote the tune, produced by Daniel Blume and Noel Zancanella, together with hit writers Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter. There is something utterly uplifting and warm about ‘Take Care Of You’. The song has the lightness and soaring character of Clean Bandits biggest hits, paired with a chorus you won’t be able to shake off after a single spin. The message of the song is heartwarming too, as Henderson declares she will protect and take care of the person she loves. The only slight imperfection to be found here is the mixing of her vocals, which sometimes sounds too processed, which her naturally gorgeous tone doesn’t need. Luckily that tone does shine through when she starts to belt in the chorus. Ella Henderson deserves a summer hit with this bop!
