Kylie Minogue returns with new single ‘Say Something’ and announces album
Kylie Minogue is getting ready to take over the dance floors again. The Australian pop star released her most recent album Golden in 2018, on which she incorporated country into her pop sound. It is pretty clear already what direction she is heading for on her fifteenth studio album Disco, to be released on the 6th of November. Although that release is still months away, Minogue already shares the first single with us, which is titled ‘Say Something’.

Minogue co-wrote the tune with Biff Stannard, Ash Howes and Jon Green. ‘Say Something’ is an infectious and upbeat pop tune with some disco influences and a synth pop production. There is a groovy guitar riff repeating itself in the verses which adds to the swinging nature of the tune. The chorus does not immediately jump out on first listen but after it mixes with the all kinds of brilliant bridge, it totally works. As Kylie sings the sentences “Love is love, it never ends, can we all be as one again?” a choir takes on the ‘Say Something’ bits and it makes for a magical finale. With ‘Say Something’, Kylie Minogue delivers an equally infectious and heartwarming pop tune. Disco is going to be a bopfest, isn’t it?
