London Grammar returns with more electronics on new single ‘Baby It’s You’
It has been three long years for fans of the absolutely captivating and moving sound of British trio London Grammar. The band consisting of Hannah Reid, Daniel Rothman and Dominic Major released their stunning second studio album Truth Is A Beautiful Thing back in 2017 and since then only released the Flume collaboration ‘Let You Know’. Earlier this week they announced their comeback with the words ‘nothing else matters’ which are lyrics taken from their brand new single ‘Baby It’s You’, on which they go more electronic and upbeat.

The three members of London Grammar co-wrote and co-produced the track together with electronic producer George FitzGerald, which explains why ‘Baby It’s You’ sounds more heavily electronic than we are used to from them. The track kicks off with an extensive intro which is as dreamy as it is swinging. Just before the one minute mark hits, Hannah’s characteristic vocals kick in to enchant us like they always do. In terms of lyrics, this is one their most simple yet straight forward tracks yet. Hannah sings how a person she loves is all that she can see. She repeats the line ‘baby it’s you’ in a dreamy manner while the beats swell in the background and a high pitched sample creates an instant catchiness. ‘Baby It’s You’ is quintessentially London Grammar but with a fresh touch. Album #3 is going to be fire, isn’t it?
