Single Review: Dotter – I’m Sorry

Dotter covers Dilba’s ‘I’m Sorry’ as new single
Although 2020 might not go down in history as everyone’s favorite year, for Swedish pop star Dotter it had some upsides too. She had the biggest hit of her career so far with her single ‘Bulletproof’, which ended as runner up in Melodifestivalen, the Swedish preselection for Eurovision. She made our summer that little bit hotter with her follow up single ‘Backfire’ and is ready to bring us all the fall feels with her new track ‘I’m Sorry’.

‘I’m Sorry’ is Dotter’s first single she did not co-write herself, as it is a cover of Dilba’s hit with the same name. Dotter’s fiancee Dino Medanhodzic signed for the production and made sure to fully ‘Dotterize’ the rock ballad original. Dotter’s version is a moody piece of electronic pop with a haunting vibe. Her expressive vocals make the regretful emotions of the lyrics hit hard and the hook of the chorus immediately pops on first listen. Not knowing the original, you could easily believe that this is an original Dotter song as it fits her style like a glove.
