Duncan Laurence launches new single with Armin van Buuren
Although it took Duncan Laurence a while to release new music after winning the Eurovision Song Contest of 2019, he is going forward at full steam now. Earlier this year he dropped the EP Worlds On Fire and in October he shared his latest single ‘Last Night‘. Next week, he will finally drop his debut album Small Town Boy and this week he serves us his latest tune ‘Feel Something’, a collaboration with Armin van Buuren.
Laurence wrote the basis of the track together with a team of songwriters including Leland, which he sent to Armin van Buuren after the two had a chat about a collaboration. Van Buuren worked on the demo and produced the final version, which lets the worlds of both artists collide beautifully. ‘Feel Something’ is an emotive song about rather feeling the pain of a break up than being in a numb state, feeling nothing at all. It fits right in with the style of music that Laurence has presented us so far, although Van Buuren pushed it into more electronic, danceable territory. It lives in the same sonic world as some of the hits DJ’s like Marshmello had with big pop stars and somewhat reminds of the sound of American pop star Lauv as well. It is great to see some of The Netherlands’ biggest artists join forces and create a sure fire hit!
