Sia sure knows how to strike the iron while it is hot. In september she made a glorious return with the single ‘Alive’, co-written by and for Adele. As we all know, Adele made her big comeback in the meantime as well and she is basically everything everyone is talking about in the music industry at the moment. Sia wrote another song for Adele’s record (together with miss Adkins herself) that got rejected in the end and she now decided to launch it as a promo single for the album This Acting, released in January.

Single Review: Sia – Alive

Sia Alive

Sia unleashes single co-written by and for Adele

This inspired her to record an album full of songs co-written by herself, but which were intended for other artists. As the tracks are written from the perspective of someone else, Sia sees it as a form of acting to perform these tracks and that’s why the album is called This Is Acting. The first single, called ‘Alive’, was co-written with Adele and it was initially intended for her upcoming third album, but in the end Sia recorded this huge pop anthem herself.

Milan, who has Italian grandparents, visited the country of her roots to develop her musical direction. Of course she also went to one of the biggest pop producing countries in Europe, Sweden, to write and record. Her new single ‘I Won’t Cry’ is the first proof of this and it sounds rather promising.
