Jess Glynne releases long awaited debut album
Can you imagine scoring your fifth number 1 hit on the day you actually release your debut album? This happened to Jess Glynne. She actually matched Cheryl’s record of five number 1 singles in the UK as most successful female pop star of the country. The British singer who broke through with the single ‘Rather Be’, a collaboration with Clean Bandit, was finally ready to release her first record I Cry When I Laugh, of course including all the hits. But does it live up to the hype around Jess Glynne?
Jess Glynne is one of the biggest hit sensations coming from the UK over the past years. After the huge success of her collaboration ‘Rather Be’ with Clean Bandit, She had three more number one hits: Solo hit ‘Hold My Hand’, ‘My Love’ with Route 94 and most recently ‘Not Letting Go’ with Tinie Tempah. ‘Real Love’ with Clean Bandit reached the second place and ‘Right Here’ made its way to top 10 as well. On the 14th of August, her debut album I Cry When I Laugh will be released. The single to launch the record is ‘Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself’, of which the studio version premiered today. Another huge hit, that’s for sure!

British pop girls ready to take over
We all know there are quite some British female pop singers that have been very successful over the past few years. Think about Ellie Goulding, Florence + the Machine, Marina & the Diamonds and of course the likes of Amy Winehouse, Adele, Jessie J and so on. I listed seven pop girls that released a single recently and will try to be the next British sensation. Some of them we have seen before, other are rather new, but all sound fresh and promising!
