Although the summer has left us for a year in most parts of Europe we can extend the feeling of sunny weather and warm breezes with 3 more minutes (or more if you dig this as much as I do and put it on replay). Heather LaRose offers us some sunlight through the ears with her brand new single and title track of her upcoming EP ‘Beachside’. The New York based singer-songwriter is just starting out with her career as a pop star and this first single immediately has my attention.

The Dutch future pop star delivers a pop track with some summery reggae influences.

O’G3NE try their luck with uptempo summer single
The girls of O’G3NE have experienced over the past couple of months that winning a talent show like The Voice of Holland, does not mean that you are automatically a successful pop star in your country. You have to work hard to keep the interest of the public eye and that is what the sisters Lisa, Amy and Shelley have been doing. They immediately released their winners single ‘Magic’ that reached top 3 in the Dutch charts, but the next track called ‘Cold’ didn’t make it past spot nr. 70. They are back with another shot at success: the uptempo summer single ‘Wings to Fly’.

Sometimes when two artists meet up for a collaboration, you just know things are going to work out very well. I knew it could not go wrong when drum and bass duo Sigma announced a single with British singer Ella Henderson. Both artists had their fair share of success in the past year. Sigma went to number 1 in the UK with ‘Somebody To Love’ and ‘Changing’, a collaboration with Paloma Faith. Henderson of X Factor fame, had a huge number one hit in 2014 with ‘Ghost’ and her debut album Chapter One went platinum. If two forces like these team up, all that can really happen is another number 1, right?

A summer single had to be released. ‘Cool for the Summer’ is the first single of her upcoming fifth album that probably will be released later this year. From the four albums she released so far, she dropped quite a few great pop singles like the beautiful ‘Skyscraper’ and ‘Heart Attack’, a banger with a humongous chorus. And what does ‘Cool for the Summer’ sound like? Pure pop with an edgy production!
