Démira is ready for big things with single ‘Dragons’
Music lovers in the Netherlands might already know who Démira Jansen is. She participated in the second season of De Beste Singer-Songwriter van Nederland and reached the final stages. Her interesting style of poetic pop with folk and electronic influences definitely stood out and sounded international. She has been making music ever since, but it is now that she is starting to reach her full potential with the release of the outstanding single ‘Dragons’. It’s creative, original and just wonderful.

New York based pop artist surprises with cool and fresh single ‘Ready Aim Fire’
The name Lexi Scherr might not ring a bell yet, but this pop singer-songwriter from New York is working hard to earn a breakthrough in the music industry. Although her usual style could be described as pop based on strings, piano, percussion and guitar, the track that caught my attention at first was her synth pop adventure ‘Ready Aim Fire’, which she recorded over an instrumental by producer Cosmic Retro. This song was launched in the first week of July and if that wasn’t enough, she followed this up with the single ‘All Take’, the first song released from her upcoming EP with the same name.

Song of the Day: Katéa – That Ain’t Love

Katéa That Ain't Love

Today, the song of the day is fairly unknown still, but definitely up and coming. I am talking about some fresh talent from Finland. Katéa, who is already being compared to the greats like Lana Del Rey and Florence + the Machine, just released her debut single ‘That Ain’t Love’ and it is a convincing piece of in your face pop music, but not without a soulful twist. Her voice is strong, raw and full of emotion and the production is bombastic with handclaps and choirs and most of all. Most important of this all, the melody of the chorus is undeniably strong and hits you right in the face when you first hear it. If this single proves one thing, it is that Katéa is one to watch closely.

British soul singer Jody Brock releases promising debut EP
The name Jody Brock might not yet ring a bell, but this is about to change soon. The 22-years-old British singer studied at Brit School (the school where only Adele, Amy Winehouse, Leona Lewis, Katy B, Jessie J and Katie Melua went) for a few years, along with Ella Eyre and Rizzle Kicks. Jody just released his debut EP called Phoenix and his gorgeous vocals just need to be heard.
