Laleh releases new single in Swedish
Although Laleh has been a household name in Sweden for over ten years, it is only recently that she is starting to make a name on the international music market. The singer-songwriter co-wrote some tunes for the latest albums by Demi Lovato and Tori Kelly and was featured as writer and performer on Adam Lambert’s latest single ‘Welcome To The Show‘. This international business does not mean she has forgotten where her success started, as her new single ‘Bara Få Va Mig Själv’ was recorded in Swedish. That doesn’t make it any less catchy though!

Laleh’s albums always contained songs in both English and Swedish, but usually the lead single was in the international language. Especially after the international success, it seems a bold move to start in Swedish this time around, but when the tune is so catchy, it could potentially cross borders. ‘Bara Få Va Mig Själv’ is the first single released of the upcoming album Kristaller, out in September. Laleh herself described the song as a story about finding your own voice and the difference between learning from others and being controlled by others. It might be one of the most poppy and upbeat things she has released so far and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. This sure fire hit in Sweden is already topping the iTunes charts and I predict it will be all over the country for the coming months.
