Years & Years unveil title track of upcoming album
In two weeks from now, Years & Years will finally drop their second album Palo Santo. After lead single ‘Sanctify’ undeservedly underperformed, basic bop ‘If You’re Over Me’ grew out to be a decent hit at least in the UK. They continue to promote the upcoming release with the album’s title track, which is actually the best of the new era so far! The story behind the album takes place in a dystopian future society of androids in which lead singer Olly Alexander is one of the few humans left. ‘Palo Santo’ is a straightforward piece of synthpop with verses almost as catchy as the irresistible chorus. This is the type of dreamy track on which Olly’s vocals shine. Out of the three tracks released so far this sounds most like their successful debut Communion, but it certainly does not feel like a step back.
