Waylon comes back swinging on his own
2014 is a really good year to be a fan of Dutch singer Waylon. After a very successful participation in the Eurovision Song Contest with Ilse DeLange as The Common Linnets and the release of an album with this band, he is already planning the launch of his new solo album Heaven After Midnight. This week, Waylon launched his swinging new single ‘Love Drunk’.
The Netherlands are represented by a unique combination of two well-known national artists in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. Ilse DeLange and Waylon teamed up in a country band called The Common Linnets and will perform in the first semifinal in Copenhagen. While the two musicians had to endure quite some mixed reactions on their fragile song ‘Calm After The Storm’, they at the same time managed to reach the first spot in the Dutch charts. They believe in themselves, their song and their way of handling this contest for the full 100%. “The most important for us is to be able to leave Copenhagen with the feeling our performance looked and sounded the best it could be.”
