It is that time of the year again! The Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna took off with the first semi final. The show was opened by the current queen of Eurovision Conchita Wurst. Sixteen countries competed for ten spots in the final. The quality of the songs and performances was not very high, but there were definitely a few gems to be found. Single Review: Trijntje Oosterhuis – Walk Along
Eventhough we still have to wait five months before the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna will take place, the first countries already selected their song. The Dutch broadcasters recently announced that singer Trijntje Oosterhuis will represent them and on the 11th of December, her track ‘Walk Along’ was played on the radio for the first time. After Anouk’s 9th place with ‘Birds’ and The Common Linnets’ second spot with ‘Calm After The Storm’, hopes are high for another good result with an experienced performer.
Waylon comes back swinging on his own
2014 is a really good year to be a fan of Dutch singer Waylon. After a very successful participation in the Eurovision Song Contest with Ilse DeLange as The Common Linnets and the release of an album with this band, he is already planning the launch of his new solo album Heaven After Midnight. This week, Waylon launched his swinging new single ‘Love Drunk’.
